Statement on the status of a political prisoner
Raman Marusau is a locksmith from the Minsk district.
Marozau was arrested on March 23, 2021. According to the charge, he leaked information about a police officer to a Telegram channel.
This was qualified as an offense under Part 6 of Art. 16 and Part 3 of Art. 130 (assistance in intentional actions aimed at inciting other social hostility and enmity on the grounds of another social affiliation, committed by a group of persons).
As far as human rights defenders know, Raman was sentenced to 6 years in prison under Art. 130 of Criminal Code. There is also information that in the end of December 2021, He was transferred from the Pre-trial detention center No. 1 to the Penal Colony No. 3.
On May 24, 2022, the KGB put Raman on the list of persons "involved in terrorist activities".
According to human rights activists, on October 17, 2023, a trial was held to replace Raman's detention regime. The political prisoner was transferred to Prison No. 4.
