Aleh Kazlou was convicted in the Homieĺ Regional Court under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code (slandering Lukashenka), Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (creating or participating in an extremist formation), Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka), Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting racial, national, religious or other social enmity), Article 188 of the Criminal Code (defamation), and Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official).
From June 9 to August 17, 2023, the case was considered in closed session by Judge Mikalai Dolia at the Homieĺ Regional Court. Aleh was sentenced to imprisonment.
On November 24, 2023, Kazlou was added to the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
