Stsiapan Zadoika was convicted under four articles of the Criminal Code: Part 2 of Article 368 (insulting Lukashenka), Article 369 (insulting a government official), Article 370 (desecration of state symbols), Part 2 of Article 366 (violence or threat of violence against an official performing official duties or another person performing a public duty). According to pro-government Telegram channels, the man wrote more than 1,200 comments.
On October 24, 2023, Stsiapan was sentenced to five years and six months of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony. He must also pay a fine of 100 basic units (3,700 Belarusian roubles). The case was considered by Judge Marharyta Lantsevich.
On November 17, 2023 Stsiapan was included in the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
