Siarhei Luferenka, an electrician, was arrested allegedly for posting "extremist" materials and insulting Lukashenka and officials on social networks, and having registered in the Pieramoha plan promoted by BYPOl. According to law enforcers, he faced charges under Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ('Creation of an extremist formation or participation in it'). The man was taken into custody.
On June 2, 2022, in the Lieninski District Court of Hrodna, Judge Ruslan Huryn convicted Luferenka under five articles of the Criminal Code:
- Part 2 of Article 367 ('Defamation against the president of Belarus')
- Article 370 ('Desecration of the state symbols')
- Part 1 of Article 367 ('Defamation against the president of Belarus')
- Part 1 of Article 368 ('Contempt of the president of Belarus')
- Article 369 ('Contempt of a public official')
Luferenka is serving his sentence in penal colony #3 in Vićba, Viciebsk region.
He was included in the 'List of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons involved in extremist activities'.
