Ruslan Kuzmich, was detained on October 7, 2021, and charged under Part 1 of Article 361-4 CC (facilitating extremist activities) for publishing a commentary on a Telegram channel.
In January 2022 Ruslan was sentenced to three years in a general-security penal colony.
On August 2, 2022, another trial was held against Kuzmich for ‘insulting a government official’ and ‘desecrating state symbols’. (Articles 369 and 370 of the Criminal Code). Judge Ihar Vauchok sentenced the political prisoner to another six months of imprisonment, thus making his total punishment 3.5 years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
