Statement on the status of a political prisoner
Godparent: Christina McKelvie, Minister
Natallia Dulina was an associate professor at the Italian Language Department of the Minsk State Linguistic University. She was detained in early October 2022, by at least six law enforcers, in a criminal case for ‘participation in group actions that grossly violate the public order’ under Article 342 of the Criminal Code. Before that, Natallia Dulina was detained and tried under politically motivated administrative articles four times within the year.
In mid-November 2022, it became known that Dulina was accused of 'assisting extremist activities' under Art. 361-4 of the Criminal Code.
On February 7, 2023, the trial of the political prisoner began in the Minsk City Court. The court sessions are held behind closed doors.
