Maksim Mnatsakanau is charged under ten articles of the Criminal Code: Article 369 (insulting a government official), Part 1 of Article 130 (incitement to hatred), Part 2 of Article 366 (violence or threats against a public official), Part 1 of Article 342 (organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order), Part 1 of Article 368 (insulting Lukashenka), Article 389 (creating conditions for threatening a judge), Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 361-4 (promoting extremist activities), Article 391 (insulting a judge), Article 364 (violence or threat of violence against an employee of the internal affairs bodies), and Part 3 of Article 361 (forming an extremist organization or participating in it).
The trial began on September 20, 2023 in the Minsk City Court. Judge Dzina Kuchuk sentenced Maksim to seven years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony.
On November 17, 2023, an appeal hearing of the court was held. Maksim will serve his sentence in penal colony No.15.
On December 8, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs added Maksim to the "list of extremists".
