Yakau Shafarenka is a resident of Brest, a defendant in a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code (participation in riots) opened after the post-election protests of August 2020.
On November 8, the Lieninski District Court of Brest sentenced the political prisoner to 5 ½ years in a medium-security penal colony on charges under Part 2 of Art. 293 and Part 3 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code.
