Ihar Khrystaforau was convicted under Article 369 of the Criminal Code (insulting a government official), Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code (inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred or enmity), Article 391 of the Criminal Code (insulting a judge), Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka).
Judge Viktoryia Paliashchuk considered the case in a closed court session from August 17 to 22, 2022 in Minsk Regional Court. Ihar was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in a penal colony.
On November 15, 2022, an appeal hearing of the court was held.
The place of detention is being clarified.
Khrystaforau was included in the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
