Hanna Karniayenka is a former accountant of the Vavilov Minsk Mechanical Plant. She was accused of 'illegal actions with privacy information and personal data' under Part 3 of Article 203-1 and 'incitement to other social enmity or hatred' under Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code.
The trial began on May 19, 2023, and was held behind closed doors, so there is scarce information about the substance of the accusation. It is known that Hanna Karniayenka was fired after the People's Ultimatum initiative (announced by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in October 2020) and later sued the company for her illegal dismissal.
On May 24, 2023, in the Minsk City Court, Judge Sviatlana Charapanava sentenced Hanna Karniayenka to five years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
