Tsimafei Halubko is an employee of Beltelecom (a major state-owned telecommunication company). In early June 2022, he was detained. According to GUBAZiK (Interior Ministry's Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption), Halubko participated in the protest actions in August 2020, got registered in the Pieramoha chatbot, and used special software to send spam to the police phone numbers.
Halubko was sentenced to three years of freedom restriction with referral to an open-type penal facility under Art. 130 of the Criminal Code of Belarus ('Inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred or enmity').
At first, he was sentenced to home confinement, but the sentence was challenged by the prosecutor and the Supreme Court, and the punishment was changed to restriction of freedom in a penal facility.
The hearings started on August 11, 2022 in the Viciebsk Regional Court. On September 8, 2022, the verdict was handed down. The case was considered in a closed court session.
On December 22, 2022, Halubko began serving his sentence in open-type penal facility #43 in Mahilioŭ.
Halubko was included in the 'List of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities'.
He is also on the 'List of persons involved in terrorist activities'.
