Andrei Kunitski was charged under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting Lukashenka). He was sentenced to one year and six months in a maximum security penal colony. From December 18 to 20, 2024, the case was considered by Judge Yuliya Shut.

According to the case materials, on November 15, 2024, in a state of alcoholic intoxication Kunitski approached the members of an initiative group of citizens who were collecting signatures for the nomination of presidential candidate Aliaksandr Lukashenka. Then he "publicly, in the presence of several people, made a negative comment about him, using an indecent form".

The court noted that the defendant's actions were intentional, aimed at public humiliation of the honor and dignity of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
