On January 25, 2023, the Čyhunačny District Court of Gomel convicted Andrei Karpenka under Part 2 of Art. 367 ('Slander against the president of Belarus') and Part 1 of Art. 342 ('Organization and preparation of actions grossly breaching public order, or active participation in them') of the Criminal Code. Judge Hanna Sakalova sentenced Karpenka to three years of imprisonment in a penal colony.
