Since late March 2023, Aleh Yahorankou was remanded in the pre-trial detention center in Prison #4 in Mahilioŭ, pending trial for his one-word disrespectful comment about Lukashenka posted on a social network.
On May 26, 2023, the Lieninski District Court of Mahilioŭ sentenced him to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. The case was heard by Judge Tatsiana Kastsiuk.
