Aliaksei Barodka is a lawyer. He was arrested in late January 2023 and placed in remand prison #1 in Minsk. At first, he was arrested for 15 days under an administrative report, and then he was re-arrested as a criminal case defendant.
After the arrest, the lawyer's profile was removed from the website of the Belarusian National Bar Association. Later it became known that on April 21, 2023, his license was revoked.
His trial began on May 15, 2023. Judge Tatsiana Falkouskaya was to hear the case in the Minsk City Court. Aliaksei Barodka was accused of 'inciting other social hatred' under Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code.
In June, it became known that Aliaksei Barodka was sentenced to six years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony.
