Aliaksandr Ziyazetdzinau is from Minsk. He is 35 years old. He was charged under Part 1 of Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code ('financing the activities of an extremist organization') for the transfer of 0.2 ether (about USD 800) to the BYPOL crypto wallet in May 2021.
On October 31, 2022, the Minsk City Court sentenced him to three years of imprisonment in a penal colony.
The trial was held behind closed doors, so the details of the case are not known. The judge Sviatlana Charapanava handed down the sentence.
Ziyazetdzinau has probably been in custody since June 2022.
On February 29, 2024, Aliaksandr was tried again in the Minsk City Court on charges related to financing extremist and terrorist activities. If found guilty, he could face up to 15 years in prison. Judge Alena Shylko presided over the case.
