Taras Machynski is from the Homieĺ region. He was accused of 'high treason' under Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony for collecting and transmitting information about the military vehicles moving across Belarus.
Together with him, on March 9, 2023, the Homieĺ Regional Court convicted Pavlo Kupriyenko, a citizen of Ukraine, of "undercover activity for the benefit of Ukraine" and sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony under Article 358-1 ('Secret service activities'). Besides, Dzmitryi Salavianchyk was found guilty of "concealing traces of a serious crime" under Part 1 of Article 405 of the Criminal Code and fined 400 basic fines (14,800 Belarusian rubles). Judge Ruslan Tsaruk handed down such a sentence. The trial started on February 14, 2023, and was held behind closed doors.
Cell phones were confiscated from Kupriyenko and Machynski.
