Siarhei Liazhenka with his family

Siarhei Liazhenka is one of the protesters detained in Pinsk on August 9-10, 2020. He was initially arrested on August 28, but after three days he was released as a suspect under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code, "participation in riots."

On August 30, Liazhenka was placed under house arrest as a measure of restraint, and on September 23, the man was detained and remanded in custody for allegedly going abroad.

On April 30, 2021, Judge Yauhen Brehan of the Maskoŭski District Court of Brest sentenced the defendant to 6 years in a medium-security penal colony.
