Siarhei Kushnarou is 57 years old. He was charged with public insult and slander against Lukashenka (under Part 1 of Article 368 and Part 1 of Article 367), as well as contempt of other public officials (Articles 188 and 369 of the Criminal Code).
In early February 2023, the Rahačoŭ District Court sentenced Siarhei Kushnarou to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony and 100 base fines (3,700 Belarusian rubles, or approx. $ 1,268).
On March 15, 2023, the Homieĺ Regional Court was to consider the appeal filed by Siarhei Kushnarou against the above verdict.
On March 31, 2023, Kushnarou was included in the 'List of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons involved in extremist activities'.
