Aliaksandr Sakalouski is a former employee at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
On August 3, 2021, Aliaksandr was sentenced under Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code (high treason). The case was considered by Judge Edhar Martsirasian at the Supreme Court. Aliaksandr was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony.
A film claiming that Aliaksandr had been recruited by the Lithuanian State Security Service was broadcast by the Belarus-1 television channel. Aliaksandr allegedly collected and transmitted information about the employees of the KGB and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, as well as information about the banking system of the country.
The place of detention is being clarified.
