Yury Alkhavik was detained in the autumn of 2023 for calls for sanctions. A criminal case under Part 3 of Article 361 of the Criminal Code was brought against Yury.
According to pro-government TV channel Belarus-1, Yury Alkhavik wrote a letter to the European company asking to stop cooperation with the Belarusian company included in the sanction list.
