Ihar Kazubau is charged with inciting hatred (Part 1 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code), slandering Aliaksandr Lukashenka (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code) and insulting the President of the Republic of Belarus (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code). On January 11, 2023, Homieĺ Regional Court began to consider his criminal case in a closed court session.
Judge Siarhei Bahinski was appointed to hear the case. According to human rights activists, Kazubau was previously detained under the administrative article. On June 8, 2023, he was tried for production, distribution or storage of extremist materials (Article 19.11 of the CAO).
It is not known what punishment the man was given.
