Ivan Marozau was one of the first Belarusian-language Livejournal bloggers. His arrest became known on January 9, 2023. He was reported to be accused of participating in the 2020 protests. Besides, his joking comment that he would attack law enforcers with HIMARS missiles if he had them in his garage, was taken seriously.

Two weeks later, his partner Hanna Kavaliova was also arrested. Now they are charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (Active participation in actions grossly disrupting public order).

The trial of the political prisoners took place on April 28, 2023, in the Pieršamajski District Court of Minsk. Judge Maksim Trusevich found them guilty and sentenced them to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
