Statement on the status of a political prisoner
On November 21, 2022, the Hrodna Regional Court sentenced Illia Kraucheuski to eight and a half years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony under seven articles of the Criminal Code:
- Art. 130 ('Inciting social hatred or strife')
- Art. 293 - ('Participation in riots')
- Part 1 of Art. 342 ('Organization of group actions that grossly violate public order')
- Art. 364 ('Violence or a threat of violence against a police officer')
- Art. 366 ('Violence or a threat of violence against an official performing official duties, or another person performing a civic duty')
- Art. 367 ('Slander against the president of Belarus')
- Art. 368 ('Insulting the president of Belarus')
- Art. 369 ('Insulting a government official')
- Art. 188 ('Slander')
- Part 3 of Art. 203-1 ('Unlawful actions regarding privacy information and personal data')
The criminal case was considered during seven court sessions. It is known that during the trial, Kraucheuski did not plead guilty under Art. 342 and Art. 364 of the Criminal Code.
Kraucheuski was added to the 'List of persons involved in terrorist activities'. He is prohibited from receiving money transfers.
