Ihar Zhuk worked as a machinist operating woodworking machines in a closed joint-stock company.
On November 9, 2023, Judge Natallia Horbach found him guilty of insulting Lukashenka under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code. Ihar was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom and sent to an open penal facility ("khimiya").
On December 1, 2023, he was added to the list of individuals involved in extremist activities, which includes Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons.
