Halina Krasnianskaya (Koval) was convicted under Part 2 of Article 361-3 of the Criminal Code on charges of financing the recruitment, education, other training or use of citizens of the Republic of Belarus for participation in an armed formation of one of the opposing parties, in armed conflicts, military actions on the territory of a foreign state. Halina made donations to Belarusian military formations fighting on the side of Ukraine against Russian aggression.
Halina lived in Sweden for a long time. She was one of the founders of the official community of the Belarusian diaspora. At the same time, she regularly returned to Belarus to visit her relatives. During one of these visits she was arrested in Minsk.
According to the telegram channel of the Swedish diaspora Sveriges Belarusier, Judge Alena Ananich sentenced Halina to five years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. The trial began on January 4, and the verdict was announced on January 12.
