Dzmitryi Mastavy was previously detained during the 2020 protests in October.
On February 26, 2023 he was arrested again. In the pro-government film "Haspar didn't get in touch" on the ONT TV channel, released on April 5, 2023, it is said that Dzmitryi allegedly offered to leak information about the Mačuliščy airfield: he set up a broadcast from his computer, which lasted for two weeks without a break.
On September 14, 2023, the Brest Regional Court started the trial on Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code (high treason) and Part 1 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code (promoting extremist activities). The case was considered by Judge Vera Filonik in closed session. Dzmitryi was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
On November 17, 2023, Mastavy was added to the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens and stateless persons involved in extremist activities.
