Dzmitry Dubkou is a 28-year-old truck driver. He was detained on August 13 and charged under Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code (participation in riots).
On the night of August 10-11, Dzmitry attended a protest near the Puškinskaja metro station in Minsk. He was asked to block the road with a street-cleaning vehicle, which he did.
Initially, he was charged with three articles of the Criminal Code: Part 2 of Art. 293 (riots), Part 1 of Art. 310 (deliberate blocking of transport communications), and Part 3 of Art. 214 (theft of a vehicle committed with the use of violence dangerous to life or health, or with the threat of its use).
On February 2, 2021, Judge Alena Zhukovich of the Saviecki District Court of Minsk sentenced Dzmitry Dubkou to seven years in a medium-security penal colony. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 214 and Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code.
