Dzmitryi Beliamuk was charged under three articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1 of Article 368 ('Contempt of the president of Belarus'), Article 369 ('Contempt of a public official'), and Part 1 of Article 130 ('Incitement to racial, national, religious or other social hatred or enmity').
According to the Viasna branch in Brest, Beliamuk was taken into custody in mid-February 2023.
On June 28, 2023, the Brest Regional Court sentenced Dzmitryi Beliamuk to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony and 100 base fines (3,700 Belarusian rubles or $1,166 as of August 8, 2023). Judge Ruslana Sianko conducted the trial was, with Aliaksandr Batsiushka as the state prosecutor.
