On 19 September 2022, the Zavodsky District Court of Minsk considered the case of Andrei Zhameika, a Minsk resident.
He was accused of writing comments allegedly containing insults against Lukashenka (Article 368 of the Criminal Code) and government officials (Article 369 of the Criminal Code). According to the indictment, Zhameika posted those messages online from October 2020 to November 2021.
Zhameika pleaded guilty. The judge Alena Kaptsevich sentenced him to three years at an open-type correctional facility. Besides, he has to pay a fine of BYN 3,200. The court ordered to confiscate his mobile phone.
