Andrei Kobel is the ex-director of the sanatorium "Belarus". On September 4, 2023, he was sentenced by the Minsk City Court to nine years' imprisonment for "treason against the state" (Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code). The trial was held in closed session. The case was presided over by Judge Alena Ananich.
On November 24, 2023, an appeal in his case was held, and in December he was sent to the penal colony to serve his sentence.
