Aliaksei Kudasau (born in 1998) was arrested on July 1, 2021, in Minsk, by the GUBAZiK (Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption) officers.

The following day, the Centraĺny District Court sentenced him to 15 days of administrative detention. However, after the arrest, Kudasau was not released. Instead, he was transferred to remand prison #1 in Minsk as a defendant in a criminal case on charges of 'group actions grossly disrupting public order' (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

Later, Kudasau was tried under four articles of the Criminal Code:

  • Part of Article 293 (Organization of riots)
  • Part 1 of Article 361-1 (Creation of an extremist formation)
  • Part 3 of Article 130 (Incitement to hatred committed by a group of persons or resulting in the death of a person by negligence or other grave consequences)
  • Article 369 (Insulting a government official)

It is unknown what exactly Aliaksei Kudasau was accused of, as the trial was held behind closed doors.

On April 25, 2022, the Minsk City Court sentenced Aliaksei Kudasau to 11 years of imprisonment in a maximum-security penal colony.

In early May 2022, it became known about the transfer of Kudasau from remand prison #1 in Minsk to remand prison #6 in Baranavičy, Brest region.

On July 22, 2022, the KGB added Kudasau to their 'List of persons involved in terrorist activities'.

On July 17, 2022, the political prisoner was transferred to penal colony #1 in Vaŭkavysk, Hrodna region. On September 1, 2022, it became known that the political prisoner had spent 29 days in a punitive confinement cell and had been permitted to call his family only once. He was repeatedly placed in a punishment cell.

In late July 2023, it became known that the political prisoner was in remand prison #3 in Homieĺ.

On August 3, 2023, the Homieĺ Regional Court, started another trial of the political prisoner under Part 2 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code ('Creation of an extremist formation committed repeatedly').

On August 11, 2023, Judge Vadzim Bobyrau found guilty Aliaksei Kudasau and sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment. The final sentence is 11 years and 6 months.
