Zinaida Mikhniuk, a trade union activist, was detained on March 25, 2020, after searches of her home and office. The woman was placed in pre-trial detention center on charges of insulting the president (Article 368 of the Criminal Code).
On 18 May 2022, the Brest Lieninski District Judge Andrei Hrushko found the political prisoner guilty and sentenced her to two years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
