Volha Halubovich is an employee of a law firm. She was detained on April 12, 2021, as part of a criminal case for ordering to seize state power (Article 357 of the Criminal Code).
In early June 2022, the KGB completed a preliminary investigation of the criminal case. It became known that Halubovich was finally charged under another article of the Criminal Code, namely Article 342 (group actions that grossly violate public order).
The trial commenced on July 29, 2022, in the Minsk Regional Court. Halubovich pleaded guilty. On August 30, state prosecutor Mikhail Kavaliou demanded three years of imprisonment for the political prisoner. On September 5, Judge Uladzimir Areshka found Halubovich guilty and sentenced her to 2.5 years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
