Volha Filatchankava is a professor at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics. A participant in a video appeal by BSUIR professors against violence. Volha took part in a strike.
She was detained on November 12, the same day her house was searched.
Volha was charged under Art. 342, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (organization or participation in group actions that gravely violate public order). She was first taken into custody in the KGB pre-trial prison, but then was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 1.
On July 16, 2021, Filatchankava was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.
The political prisoner served her sentence in full and was released on November 30, 2022.
