Viachaslau Papou is a resident of Minsk detained on March 10, 2021. The security officers broke the door into his apartment, pinned the man to the floor and smashed his face. The apartment was searched.

Papou was charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization or active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order) in connection with the events of August 9-10, 2020, in Minsk.

On June 10, 2021, Judge Yuliya Shut of the Lieninski District Court of Minsk sentenced Viachaslau Papou to three years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility (“khimiya”).

The convict was released in the courtroom, but remained under travel restrictions to await an appeal hearing.

Papou was re-arrested and sent to serve his sentence on July 4, 2021.
