Viachaslau Karatkevich is a resident of Svislač in Hrodna region, teacher of English at Svislač secondary school.
Viachaslau was accused of slandering the president - a criminal case was brought under part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal Code.
On 20 August 2020, Svislač Town Executive Committee organized a meeting with the people, to which Viachaslau Karatkevich decided to go. The committee accused him of slandering the president at that meeting.
On 30 June 2021, Svislač district court sentenced Karatkevich to one year and six months of imprisonment. The man was taken into custody in the courtroom.
