Statement on the status of a political prisoner
Vital Zhylinski was detained in a criminal case on group actions grossly violating public order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
He was transferred to pre-trial detention center.
After six months behind bars, Vital's case was brought to court, and the charges were expanded by one more article of the Criminal Code, Article 130 (inciting hatred).
On July 18, 2022, the Minsk Municipal Court pronounced the verdict on the political prisoner. Judge Natallia Buhuk sentenced the political prisoner to three years of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
