Vital Pupin, a customs officer, was found guilty by the Leninski District Court under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code for organizing and preparing actions that grossly violate public order, or actively participating in them. 

On December 21, 2023, Judge Maryna Klimchuk sentenced him to two years and six months of restricted freedom without sending him to an open-type penal facility (domashnyaya khimiya).

Prior to the trial, Vital was held in a pre-trial detention center.
