Vital Litvin is a defendant in a massive criminal case opened after the events of September 13, 2002, when several hundred protesters were dispersed by a water cannon and faced charges under Part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code.

On February 25, 2021, the Lieninski District Court of Brest sentenced Litvin to one a half years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility (“khimiya”).

On May 6, he was sent to serve his sentence at penitentiary No. 17.
