In May 2021 Valiantsina Zhukouskaya was found guilty in "the round dance case" under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them). Judge Ina Klyshpach sentenced Zhukouskaya to one year and six months of home confinement ("domashnyaya khimiya").
She was included on the list of Belarusian citizens, foreign citizens, and stateless persons engaged in activities associated with extremist organizations.
In April 2024, it was revealed that Valiantsina had been detained once more and was to be tried for participation in the post-election protest.
She is currently being held at pre-trial detention center No. 7.
On July 30, 2024, she will be tried under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them).
