Valeryia Charnamortsava is an activist, researcher and tour guide.

She was detained on October 18, 2022, after a search of her apartment. First, she was arrested for 10 days, then transferred to pre-trial detention center #1 as a defendant in a criminal case for her participation in the protests in 2020 (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).

On January 16, 2023, the trial was held in the Saviecki District Court of Minsk. Judge Volha Yemelyanchanka sentenced Charnamortsava to two and a half years of restricted freedom without refferal to a penal facility (under home confinement). She was released from custody in the courtroom.
