Valeryi Ziza, 39, was arrested at home by the KGB officers. He was charged with ‘incitement of hatred’ and ‘fraud’ under Part 1 of Article 130 and Part 1 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code. It is known that the reason for the former accusation was a comment that law enforcers detected in Ziza's phone; the grounds for the latter charge are unknown.

On June 8, 2022,  Judge Iryna Maiko of the Minsk Regional Court found him guilty and sentenced him to 12 months of imprisonment.

In September 2022, the KGB included Ziza in the list of persons involved in terrorist activities.

It is also known that Valeryi Ziza has a severe disability.
