Valery Vishchenia is a resident of Minsk detained on April 29, 2021, in a criminal case under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization or active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order).

Vishchenia has three children. The youngest child has a disability.

On July 12, the Centraĺny District Court of Minsk sentenced Vishchenia to three years of restricted freedom in an open correctional facility ("khimiya"). The convict was released in the courtroom to await an appeal hearing.

On September 5, 2021, Vishchenia was re-arrested to serve his sentence.

In July 2022, it became known that Valery would serve the remainder of his sentence (21 months) under home confinement.
