Vadzim Tsishkevich was sentenced to one year and eight months of restricted freedom under Art. 369 of the Criminal Code for publicly insulting a government official.
He was accused of posting obscene comments as a reaction to a photo of a district police officer Kayach.
The prosecution argued that Tsishkevich did this to "influence public consciousness" and "undermine the authority of the government".
