Uladzislau Hancharou was convicted under three articles of the Criminal Code. According to the investigation, he allegedly insulted the president of Belarus (Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code), government officials (Article 369 of the Criminal Code), and desecrated state symbols (Article 370 of the Criminal Code). Judge Halina Knizhonak-Maksimava sentenced him to 24 months of imprisonment in a regular-security penal colony and ordered him to pay a fine of BYN 1,600 rubles (USD 640).
