Uladzimir Seviaryn is a former international secretary of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party. He was arrested on October 21, 2021 as a defendant in a criminal case on terrorism and was kept in the KGB pre-trial detention center until mid-December. The charge was later changed to Art. 342 of the Criminal Code ('Organization and active participation in group actions grossly disrupting public order'). Seviaryn was transferred to remand prison #1 in Minsk.
On May 14, 2022, the Lieninsky District Court of Minsk found Uladzimir Seviaryn guilty and sentenced him to 18 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony. It is known that the state prosecution requested to punish him with two years in a penal colony. The two months of remand in the KGB remand prison were not counted.
In June 2022, Seviaryn was transferred to penal colony #3 (in Vićba, Viciebsk region).
Vladimir Seviaryn served his full sentence and was released on February 20, 2023.
