Tamara Karavai was accused of defamation against Lukashenka according to Part 1 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code (Defamation against the President of Belarus).

On March 29, 2023, in the Luniniec District Court, Judge Katsiaryna Kleuzhyts sentenced Tamara Karavai to 24 months of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony and compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
