Tatsiana Talochka is an intensivist. She was detained on May 12, 2022, right at her workplace in the hospital. Her husband was also detained.
She is accused of having saved a teenager, Tsimur Mitskevich, from prosecution in August 2022, who fell into a coma after being beaten by law enforcers. Now the 19-year-old is fighting in Ukraine in the "Kastus Kalinovsky" regiment. As Tatsiana's former cellmates reported, she “signed papers that he could not be interrogated, but the head doctor did not sign this document”.
At first administrative proceedings were initiated against her and her husband, but then she became a defendant in a criminal case under Article 342 of the Criminal Code (group actions that grossly violate public order). A criminal case was also opened against Tatsiana for document forgery (probably under Article 380 of the Criminal Code). Tatsiana's husband is under house arrest, and she herself was placed in a detention center.
The trial took place on September 30, 2022, in the Kastryčnicki District Court of Minsk. Judge Volha Niaborskaya found the medic guilty and sentenced her to three years of freedom restriction under home confinement. Tatsiana Talochka was released in the courtroom.
