Siarhei Shymko worked as a driver in an international company. He was accused of leaving an offensive comment in one of the Telegram chats on October 21, 2021. According to Berastseyskaya Viasna, the man was arrested on July 22, 2023, and sent to the Brest pre-trial detention center No. 7.
On October 2, 2023, Siarhei was convicted in the Kobryn District Court under Part 1 of Article 368 (insulting Lukashenka) of the Criminal Code. Judge Tatsiana Kaberskaya sentenced Siarhei to one year of imprisonment in a general-security penal colony.
